Seeking Experienced Traffic Management Staff (STMS Preferred)

TMC is proud to be supporting a long-standing client with a preferred supplier agreement by establishing a new satellite depot in the Invercargill area. If you're an experienced STMS or traffic management professional looking for a new opportunity, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

As an STMS, you'll play a key role in running TTM crews and ensuring safety on road work sites. This position offers variety:

  • Managing safety on urban upgrades or rural road networks.
  • Working on the busy main state highways or supporting local events.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders.

This is a full-time, permanent position. Traffic management is a 24/7 industry, so availability for rostered weekend or night work is essential.

What We’re Looking For
  • Practical experience in traffic management (STMS preferred).
  • Commitment to safety and high-quality work standards.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • A valid driver’s licence (Restricted Class 1 minimum; Full Class 1 preferred).

What We Offer

TMC provides a supportive work environment and fantastic benefits, including:

  • Competitive hourly rates with clear progression pathways.
  • Company phone and vehicle use (licence contingent).
  • Annual health & well-being allowance.
  • Medical insurance (after 12 months).
  • After-hours rates for weekend and night shifts.
  • Access to our in-house training and assessment team for upskilling.
  • Relocation assistance for those moving to Invercargill for the role.

The Team

You’ll join a close-knit and supportive team as part of our new Invercargill satellite depot. TMC’s team culture is built on collaboration, high standards, and a commitment to safety. You’ll also have opportunities to connect with our wider Dunedin, Waitaki and Balclutha teams during company events and as projects require.
